Whether it’s your first time seeing a physio or just your first time at our Frenchs Forest clinic, it helps to know what to expect before you arrive. This guide covers how to find us, where to park, what happens when you walk in and what’s close by, so your visit is as easy as possible.

Where is the clinic?

You’ll find us at Building 8/49 Frenchs Forest Road East, Frenchs Forest. We’re part of a busy health and medical precinct that many locals already know, with imaging, pathology and specialist rooms all close by.

How do I find you when driving?

If you’re heading west along Frenchs Forest Road East:

  • Drive just past The Forest Hotel
  • Turn left at the PRP Diagnostic Imaging sign
  • Head down the driveway, and you’ll find us on the right-hand side

Where can I park?

Parking is right on site. Three driveways have car spaces marked Brellah and Movement HQ, and these are available for our patients to use. Most appointments run for 30 to 45 minutes.

Can I get here by bus?

Yes. Frenchs Forest Road East is a regular bus route, and there are bus stops a short walk from the clinic.

Is the clinic accessible?

The clinic is on ground level with a flat entrance, no stairs and wheelchair access. If you have any specific access needs, let us know when you book and we’ll make sure your visit runs smoothly.

What happens when I arrive?

You’ll enter through a shared gym space, with our front desk and waiting seats on your right.

There usually isn’t a receptionist at the front desk in Frenchs Forest. Instead, walk up to the iPad standing on the desk and check yourself in. Then take a seat, and your physio will come out, introduce themselves and take you through to a treatment space or room.

If it’s your first visit and you’re unsure about anything, don’t worry. Your physio will be with you shortly.

How should I prepare for my first appointment?

A little preparation helps you get the most from your first session:

  • Arrive 5 to 10 minutes early so you have time to park and check in
  • Wear comfortable clothes you can move in (shorts are handy for knee, hip or ankle problems, and a loose top or singlet for shoulder or neck problems)
  • Bring any relevant scans, reports or letters from your GP or specialist
  • Bring your private health insurance card if you have one, and claim details if your appointment relates to a workers compensation or motor vehicle claim

You don’t need a scan or a GP referral to see a physio privately. Your physiotherapist will help you work out whether any further investigation is actually needed. If you do need imaging or another opinion, it’s useful that so many health services are right on the doorstep.

What does the first session involve?

Your first appointment is about understanding what’s going on. Your physiotherapist will ask about your symptoms, your history and what you’re hoping to get back to, then assess how you’re moving. From there, they’ll explain what they think is happening, what’s safe to keep doing, and how your rehabilitation plan is likely to look.

Treatment is tailored to you. Depending on your problem, it may include exercise, hands-on treatment, advice on managing your load, or a mix of these.

What’s nearby?

Our clinic sits within one of the area’s main health and medical hubs. Close by, you’ll find:

  • Two cafes, handy for a coffee before or after your appointment
  • Medical imaging, pathology and specialist consulting rooms
  • Movement HQ gym
  • The Forest Hotel, on the next driveway across
  • Northern Beaches Hospital down the road
